2021 Production 'The Generation Gap'

Great Ryrie Primary School is excited to announce our upcoming bi-annual school production “The Generation Gap”.

A much-anticipated event in our school calendar, the bi-annual production gives our children a real theatre experience to remember. We are a community of 500 children, and the whole school is involved in this major event.

Our students are currently auditioning for roles, learning lines and songs, and the enthusiasm and excitement is rapidly building. We believe every child should experience the chance to be involved in performing arts, building their confidence and learning new skills.

For an event of this size to be successful, we rely on large teams of parents and community volunteers to help us.  This can involve them helping with constructing props, making costumes and assisting in fundraising, promotions and backstage.

SYNOPSIS

“The Generation Gap”  tells the story of one family that is struggling to disconnect from technology and connect with each other. We learn early on that an obvious generation gap exists between the different generations. Through storytelling and spending some quality time with their grandparents, the children rediscover their connection with their grandparents, parents and each other. Their relationship grows as they tell stories and discover that underneath all the technology and jargon, they all want the same thing – to be valued, appreciated and loved.
