PURPOSE
Technology education aims to give students the knowledge and skills to produce products that solve problems or meet needs.
“Technology refers to the equipment and processes people use to enhance, maintain, manipulate and modify the environment and resources to support human endeavour. It involves the purposeful application of knowledge, skills, equipment, materials and information to create useful products................... Technology contributes to cultural, social, environmental and economic changes” (C.S.F. Technology page 9)
GUIDELINES
1. The program will be formed on CSF incorporating the 3 Technology strands.
2. To provide students with the challenge of designing and producing such products.
3. To develop confidence in using a wide range of equipment and resources.
4. The technology process of investigating, designing, producing and evaluating will be followed.
5. Equipment and materials will be provided to facilitate the technology process.
6. Technology will be part of the integrated curriculum.
7. Tools and equipment will be introduced with emphasis on appropriate and safe usage.
