Internet and Email Access at school – Student Agreement

I accept and agree to the following statements:

·         Accessing outside sources on the Internet and Email is a privilege, not a right.

·         Never email or copy material you find on the internet without your teacher’s permission.

·         Just as you stay away from strangers on the street, be careful about strangers on the Internet.

·         If anyone uses nasty language or mentions things that make you uncomfortable, do not respond, log off and tell your supervising teacher

·         As a user of the Internet you have an obligation to never use nasty language or refer to things that might make others uncomfortable

·         Never give anyone’s last name, address, or telephone number to anyone; if someone asks for this information (or for your password), don’t respond.  Log off and tell your teacher.

·         Never agree to meet with someone you’ve talked with on the Internet without gaining permission from both your teacher and parents first

·         There are places on the Internet which are for adults only; if you find yourself in an “adults-only” place, or anywhere you think you shouldn’t be, leave and tell your teacher – who will stop further access to the site!  There are plenty of fantastic “kids’ places” on the net.

With this understanding, the rules I agree to follow are:

I will never give out personal information such as a surname, phone number, address or password to anyone else.

I agree to use the Internet and Email appropriately at all times.

I will contact my supervising teacher immediately if I find any inappropriate material.

I understand that if I breach these rules I will lose my Internet Access.
