Environmental Sustainability

 For many years now Great Ryrie Primary School has been participating in the ‘National Schools Tree Planting Day’. This is normally held on the last Friday on July and involves schools all over the country. At Great Ryrie every student is involved in the planting days and so far we have planted more than 2000 native trees, shrubs and grasses. Many staff and parents help on the day and our sustainability student group, ‘The Green Team’ is also actively involved. The plantings continue to increase our diversity of plant and animal life and add to the school’s aesthetic appeal.
